Keeriparai Reserve Forest
The Keeriparai Reserve Forest is a 20 km area that is not as popular as Thirparappu but is well known to locals. The forest was purposely not as publicized because the area is an animal corridor for wild elephants that visit some of the streams to drink water. There are a few small waterfalls, viz. the Vattaparai falls and Kalikesam falls, frequented by people from around the area. Tourists are allowed to take a bath in some of the falls – in fact, taking a bath here is therapeutic because of the medicinal plants that are abundantly found in and around the area.
Recently, the Forest Department introduced trekking to international tourists with special permits. The place has a wide range of flora and fauna, including hundreds of medicinal plants
