Seekh Kebab – South Asian Cuisine

One of the famous South Asian cuisines is the Seekh Kebab. It is also called as Lamb Seekh Kabab or Beef Seekh Kebab. This special delight is made using keema (lamb of beef mince) and other ingredients. It has to be cooked in a tandoori oven to get the right roast. Basically, Seekh Kebab consists of small pieces of meat that is threaded on a skewer and grilled with a suitable heat pressure. Seekh Kebab


  • 450 gm of Lamb mince
  • 2 medium size Onions
  • Garlic- 5 cloves
  • 1.5 cm of ginger
  • 1-2 green chilli
  • Fresh coriander
  • Dry Masala
  • 1-2 Cardomom
  • 2 teaspoons of Chilli powder
  • 2-3 cardomoms
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1/ 2 teaspoons of garam masala
  • 1/ 2 cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoons of dry coriander

Preparation of Seekh Kebab:

Take the mince lamb and put in a large bowl. You have to add chopped onions, ginger, garlic, chillies and coriander.

Now, add the whole ground masala to the mixture in hand or wooden spoon.

You can take hand full of the masala and make into a small roll  kebab.

Just pour oil in the pan and fry the kebab under the hot grill. Take off and finally serve on a bed of lettuce. You can garnish with onion rings, tomatoes and coriander.
